Hi, I have also built some 1/32 models of the huey. A replica of the robinhoods 173ahc that my dad flew, also one of the greyhouns 240th ahc, and a couple gunships he flew. I'll see if i can't take a few pics to share. Email me if you like. Just out of curiosity why do you have the nose art upside down on the huey?

Howdy Childer!

The 'Robinhood hat' on the nose was done from a verbal discription the phone from Mr. Combs, so that was the best I could do. I built that helo in 1990 and I had no PC and I bet the Internet wasn't as full of Nam Helo stuff like it is today anyway.....since then I have seen pics of the Robinhoods and Crossbows birds of prey.

Here is mine: ttenlow@prodigy.net

Ask your Dad if he remebers a Pilot named John C. Combs, a Robinhood slick driver..I'm pretty sure it was 68 to 1970.

Charles NKAWTG (My KC-135R at RAF Fairfird during Allied Force) Pilots without crew chiefs are nothing but pedestrians with nice sunglasses and a cool jacket. Crew Chiefs RULE!

Beatiful Huey!

How did you do those black spiraled cabin intercom cables? Did they come OOB?

Thanks!

Hiya Higg from Fort Lost in the woods! at least thats what they called it when a buddy of mine was there in "84"

The cables were fine black insulated wire coiled around a large sewing needle.

Funny how it much easier to add make the detail look better at 1/32 and 1/35 than 1/24....for helos anyway.

Thanks for the kind words pals! Big Smile [:D]
