I don't know how long it will take to get to the North American continent but, Upnorth posted this on another site. Thought some of you might find it interesting. Big Smile [:D]

EDIT:

It was just brought to my attention on another site that they couldn't read the post I linked to unless they registered with the site so, I will just quote the post here.

It was made by one of our members here, Upnorth, who is currently living in the Czech Republic. Emphasis added by me.

"Hey all:

Valom's new 1/72 Bell Airacuda kits and Special Hobby's 1/72 H-37B Mojave helicopter kit just hit my LHSs this week and I took a peek in the boxes today.

Both kits look pretty good with a mix of styrene, resin and PE parts.

The Airacuda is a touch crude looking in spots, but Valom did the clear parts in injection rather than their usual vac form plastic with this kit and that's an improvement in itself. The biggest concern I'd have with it is that the styrene has a slight pebbly texture, so if you wanted to to the BMF scheme straight from the box, you'd have rather a lot of plastic polishing to do before you could put your finish down.

The Mojave is quite nice and almost the whole nose section is done in clear styrene parts, so you don't have to diddle about with getting the windows into the cargo doors. It comes with a couple of different decal options, one for a German based US Army machine and two different schemes for one Vietnam machine.

I didn't buy either of them as I'm holding out for Valom's Bristol Brigand and the Xtrakit/Special Hobby Sea Vixen, but for anyone who was toying with the idea of buying the Mojave or Airacuda, they looked pretty decent at a first glance to me."

Hannant's has the CH-37 in stock, so they should be in the US soon.

It's about time someone made a kit of that....I remember reading a thread here in helis about a poll of what kits should be made, and this was voted for quite a bit.

Well, I know of one person in the US who actually has the Special Hobby CH-37 kit in their hands, retail from Hannants.  Haven't got anything from Great Models yet, Bummer!

Still waiting for it to show up in the States, as a note Great Models is advertising the 1/48th scale CH-21 from Special Hobbies

The kit has been here for some time. I got two of them from Sprue Brothers about three or four weekas ago.

They also have the H-21 in stock

I don't know where you get your kits from, but Gordon Kwan(aka Sprue Brothers) does a bang up job on filling orders...and in my experience has been much more responsive to problems than Great Models was.

Perhaps Special Hobby has misjudged the market, Hannants had some about two months ago and they sold out almost immediately.  I did get mine from Great Models and last time I checked they had it and the H-21.

I like the kit.  One thing I will change is the cargo door on the right side, as all of the ones I was around had the sliding door.  The kit has the 3 part dutch door that hinges outward like the early models had.  I think all of ours were modified to B models or were built as B's to begin with, which externally means the sliding door and no stabilizers on the aft fuselage, but the single one up by the tail rotor.  The other thing I wish they had done was supply PE screens for the engine pods and the tower, it is solid plastic in those areas with just some texture to simulate the screens.
