Thanks mate.. In all honesty, I don't know when we will return home.. Every year I say that this will be my last year, and then when contract extention time comes, the whole thought of packing up a family and moving seems a little too much work for me and I sign on for another year..

We come home every year or two, but I never get to go to any of the old places that I used to look at.. Those 3 always came to mind, and I never really found anything all that interesting at MR Toys, other than overly priced Revell Car kits.. (kinda not my thing)

Anyways, cheers for that. Voglers I am surprised is still in business.. I was certain those old brothers were on their last legs, or that dinky little shop would have silently faded away.. Never really had alot, and their prices were always exie, but good that it has survived I guess..

Hey Chris. I shop all over the place really. Hobbyrama is reasonably close to home so I drop in there when I can - used to be expensive with not a lot of variety. Though I did get the Hind from them. Now, they can still be a bit on the exy side, but their range & variety has increased - recently spotted a pile of Lindberg a/c, more MRC helos, Eduard a/c, Monogram a/c - you get the picture. Oh they also have the biggest range of MM & Gunze paints. Haven't been to Voglers for a long while. Prices & range didn't stand him out from the crowd, but he does carry Scaledown stuff, so it makes it easier to get all the bits together for RAAF F-111 builds. Pretty much given up on HobbyOne. Best shop is still Mr Toys @ Springwood. Biggest range, best prices, bugger to get to.

shaun, where do you shop for kits.. I remember there used to be Hobbyrama at Stafford, and Hobby One at Mt Gravatt, and Voglers in Ipswich.. Are there any other places around the place now days.. Just curious is all.. I am lucky here in Japan, and wonder what it will be like when we finally head back to Aus?

I've got a Hind-F from MiniHobbyModels (which is basically a Trumpeter, isn't it). It's OK - plastic is a bit soft & the parts fit isn't great, but down here, we don't have a choice really. Except if we want the other Hind from them. Big Smile [:D] And it's reasonably cheap.

The Monogram Hind has been OOP for many years. But not too hard to find.

Has anyone built any of the other Hind kits in 48th?

Thanks! Is it still in production, or an Evil Bay-only item?

The old Monogram one in 1/48 is still the best on the market.  Cobra Company has some resin upgrade/update sets for it too.

Hey, gang:

I know this is mainly a Huey forum ;-) , but can anyone recommend a decent 1/48 Hind kit? I love that fugly Russian helicopter and wanna add one to my growing stash of ugly aircraft.

Thanks so much!
