Kentucky National Guard Blackhawk Pics

I know it's been quite a long time,but that name sounds familiar.I can't place the name with  a face but it seems like I've heard of a Mr.Herron(that's what we call WO's,Mr. so and so).See if he has any pictures of him or the unit you can post.Ask him if he remembers any of the UH-60's.Especially Balls 4,Tail #23004.Ky was the first NG unit in the US to receive the UH-60 Blackhawks because of our high mission reliabilty rate.Actually most of the aircraft came from the 82nd Airborne Division when we turned in our older models for newer aircraft.I can remember Ky. pilots coming to Ft.Bragg to inspect and pickup their helos.At that time I was assigned to the 82nd Combat Aviation Battalion(later became the 82nd Aviation Brigade) as a UH-60 mechanic.

At that time he would've been a CW-2, so CW2 Richard Herron.  He also flew the Kentucky State Police choppers/FW a/c. He also flew the Govenors S-76.

Chopperpilot71,I was a member of that ky Guard unit in the late 80's early 90's(E Co.135th Aviation Battalion) I think.What was your dad's name?I might know him

Yama, that looks like an HMX avatar.  I finally got lucky and found a good job.  Using my military experience to get my A&P was a very good idea.  That cartoon is hard to make out, I guess the Kentucky Guard has to deal with oil leaks.  It's a grinning blackhawk firing machine guns from both arms.  Good luck with your 53.  It's a good kit, but it'll need some tweeking.  I'm sure you have all the reference material you'll need. 

Chopperpilot71 I'm glad you like the pics.  Have you built a machine from that Kentucky NG unit?

Great shots! My dad was a Huey/Blackhawk pilot with that unit, their based outa Boone Nat'l Guard center Frankfort,Ky.  It was cool to see those Hawks again, thanks!  Rich.

Cool pics, Chris.  BTW, glad to see you were able to hook yourself up with a good job after you got out, I read your 53E buildup, pretty inspirational.  Next on my list as a matter of fact.  IN your first pic, I see it's a blackhawk 'cartoon', but can't make out what it's supposed to be doing?
