Dave,

Those pix are a great help. I'm building in 1/72 scale, so I don't want to get too carried away detail-wise, but I'd like to get what I am adding right. Thank you very much.

Cheers,

Shaun and Dave,

Thanks guys! That really helps. Now I can get started. When you talk about the loadmasters' seats are you referring to the sideways-facing seats immediately behind the flightdeck – the gunner's seats with the MAG-58s?

Chris,
I'm building the little Italeri 1/72 scale Blackhawk because that's the scale of the decals I have for it, a nice set from Aussie Decals.

Cheers,

Well I can definately help as I was in Timor and have a number of images of the  Blackhawks that were there in 2001/2002. I will have to find the disk with the photos and email the relevant ones to you. There were seats along the back and seats for the loadmasters and no others. All sat on the floor and were held in with AD straps if anything.

Aahh, now a Timor Breakhawk only had the seats along the back wall - there weren't any behind the pilot/nav

HTH a bit more

What kit and what scale Aaron?..

I am trying to decide wether I will do a Nam version Aussie Huey after my latest Huey build, or a Aussie Blackhawk in 1/35..

I would be interested in the kit you are going to go with as I have been looking myself of late..

Sorry for the hijack.. Back to your regular programming..

I'm unable to post pics here Aaron, but IIRC, the current arrangement is a row of seats along the back wall & a row behind the pilot/nav seats + crewies seats for the MAG 58's - nothing down the c/l of the a/c

No pics, but...

They have had a couple different set-ups.  The older one was 4 seats on each side running down the center of the cabin facing out with nothing on the back wall.  The more recent set-up is 3 seats down the center facing out and 4 across the back wall.  Both set-ups are in addition to the standard position gunner's/crew chief seats in place as well.

Hope that helps.

Aussie Blackhawk interior question
Posted by Aaron Skinner on Friday, December 14, 2007 12:21 PM
Hey guys,

I'm hoping somebody out there has an answer for me. I think I remember hearing someplace that Australian Blackhawks had a different cabin layout than American birds. Something about the seats being positioned differently as. Can anyone confirm that? And what the layout might be. Any photos would be great.

Thanks,
