They have passed live fire testing of the Hellfires at Woomera, but there have been other issues plaguing delivery. I don't have the relevant Defence mag handy which outlined the problems, but they are numerous

Yeah, confirming what Trigger said Chris, we haven't bought any -47F's. It is more likely we will buy the upgrades to make the 'D' into an 'F'. With a Labor govt now in office, I really can't see our defense budget reaching anything like what Johhnie was spending, ergo no outright purchase of new choppers. Example: the Tiger is not even gainfully employed at the moment, & payments have stopped until the programme is back on track from its niggles. At least the 1st 4 MRH-90's have been delivered & cleared for use.

Thanks Trigger.. I dont know where I read it, but it took my eye and I wanted to know if it was for real or not.. So now I guess it isn't and we are stuck with the boring green Aussie Chook D's..

Cheers, Chris

Australia hasn't taken delivery of the Foxtrot model Chinook, they're still flying the CH-47D. The Australian Army wants to upgrades their CH-47D to the Foxtrot standard, but there's been some discussion about the V-22. The very first CH-47Fs are only just now standing up right now with the 101st Airborne. And the only CH-47Fs in desert colors are the two prototypes flown by the US Army. (photo)

Thinking about building an Aussie Chook in 1/48 to go with my Tiger.. I was wondering if anyone has got any info regarding the Australian CH-47F that is in desert markings?..  I never cared too much for the solid green colour..
