New Australian MRH-90
Posted by Chris_in_Japan on Thursday, December 20, 2007 6:20 PM

I just saw a pic of the MRH-90 flying over the Gold Coast. It was painted in the Aussie camo with a green Kangaroo on black, and not like the usual black Kangaroo. And it has NAVY written in green near the end of the tail?  A camo NAVY bird?

Is the navy just going with the camo, or is this helo just a test aircraft for them and they couldn't be bothered painting it grey?

Still in the test phase hey Chris,

I would think they will wear the navy colors when handed out late next year ( i think )

Looks not bad but nowhere as good as the old Huey, i should just get used to change!!

All the best

Yeah, the Huey will be missed, but it's nice to see Australia getting some new toys.. I think the RAAF should take a leaf out of the Army and RAN's book and upgrade what you could call a second class airforce.. It's nice we have some new C-17's, but they are no good to you when they are bombed on the ground and we have no real strike power in the sky..

I don't know why New Zealand is still trying to be a country?. Half of you live in Australia, and the rest that are left know that if anything happens then Australia will look after you.. The way I see it, New Zealand is simply a glorified state of Australia! ..

Cheers, Chris

Just a test hack I'd say Chris. The 1st 4 frames were delivered at Eagle Farm within the last week, & I would suggest the Navy (which has an order for them) wanted to have a play. They will be in the same colours as the SeaHawks.
