I was thinking of doing the same as you Jon . I have a 1/48 Hasegawa HSS-2B Seaking sitting in one of my spare parts draws . A few years ago I stripped back the spray can paint finish and got the fuselage halves apart . All I really got done so far is to make some replacement cabin windows ; which may not matter if I decided to do the same surgery as on my two 1/72 lindberg versions . The only dilemma I have is that the rotors are still attached to the hub and are in the folded position . Obviously it suits the navy H-3 but may not look right on a USAF Jolly . I went to my LHS today to buy some paint and saw plenty of lindbergs 1/48 fighter jets but no helicopters yet . Hopfully I'll be able to pick one up before to long . I know this is not related to these forum pages but I noticed the pic under your post's jon is of an F-105 Thunderchief , I bought two 1/72 F-105D's today , a trumpeter and hasegawa kits for $30 each. I didn't realise untill I got home and looked in the box's that the hasegawa kit is a re-issue of their early 1980's kit . Compared to what's in the trumpeter box the hasegawa kit is only worth half the price Sigh [sigh] john

Yep, got an email back.  They mis-labeled the 72nd kit.

I've got 2 Hasegawa SH-3H kits that are going to meet Mr. RazorSaw pretty soon.  I WILL have an HH-3E on my shelf in 48th....

Wow... looks like they're reissuing the old Fujimi G model hunk of junk.

I love how they're advertising it as an AH-1S with "authentic markings" and "detailed parts".  It has neither and it isn't an AH-1S.   But I digress.

I just emailed them to make sure it is the 72nd HH-3.  If for some reason they decided to scale it up, I want one... just so I can lop the tail section off and graft it to my Hasegawa H-3.

:D

I hope it becomes available here in Australia soon . I will certainly buy at least one no matter how basic the detail is . I'll check squadron.com they always seem to have lot's of new release's before most other hobby outlets .   john

Lindberg have re-released their 1/48 HH-3E

Came across the Lindberg site this pm and saw that they had their 1/48 HH-3E Jolly for sale. I emailed their head honcho who replied within the hour and said that it had come out last week and that it was due out in the UK in around 6 weeks or so. I've no idea what this kit is like as I've never seen it in the flesh ,so to speak. From the model on the box, it looks pretty basic, but it's a start, and from what I've seen of the resin kit which came out a few months back, it's certainly not any worse. At least we have a base kit to work from, and something the after market people can produce something for. Has anyone any experience of this kit?
