I keep seeing detail sets for a 1/35 apache but can't find the kit anywhere. Does anyone know where to find it and if it is any good? I think the maker is Karang? Let me know if its at least ok I might get one for the stash.

The Kangnam kit is GARBAGE.  You're much better off with the Revell 32nd scale kit.

I share Jon´s opinion! Do Yourself a favor and keep away from this kit! Poor fitting, lousy decalsheet, a lot of wrong details and even major mistakes in the overall look of the AH-64.

This kit qualified as the worst I ever had on my desk!

I never finished mine.  It became a high-speed testbed examining crashworthiness in the scale airframe.  Didn't do so well.

The problem is, they didn't do ANY research on it.   They just stole the Revell kit, scaled it down and added some "details".  Their "Longbow" is nothing of the sort.

Jon,

Do you comments extend to their AH-64A?  Is that kit any better?

Simon,

It is marginally better.  Still has gear issues, detail issues, etc, but at least the cockpit detail is correct for the most part.  If you want a big-scale AH-64A, the Revell kit (which the Kangnam/IMEX kit is copied from) is infinitely better, less expensive and just as available.  I actually converted one of my Revell A models to a D and had an easier time than the Kangnam D model.  It is now hanging as part of my class plaque at Ft. Rucker in the 5th Platoon, A Company classroom at Hanchey AAF.

i looked at it when it came out and I could have sworn it was the Acadamy kit pantographed and with minor assembly (does this phrase sound achingly familiar?) done prior to cutting the mold.

awful.
