Nice job Rotorhead... I just finished the Mach one and if you play with it you can end up with a fair looking model. I added wire step rails and grab handels. Polished the front canopy, and made my own glass for the rest of the windows.Like I said if you fidle with it ,it can work.

I would still like to do the other manufactures versions.  I am going to do a tread and ask if anyone has done the VS -300 that Squadron had in their adds. That should be fun one to do.   I remember a photo about 10 or more years ago.Someone Scratch built a VS-300 and a S-76 and did a trick shot like they were both flying next to each other. That was in a Fine Scale mag under gallery. Way before internet ... Probably alot older the 10 years. I saved the issue and have it pack away .Very cool build.. Thanks Guys  Davey5

That looks really nice, alot better than the mach 2 one they show on the websites. I don't think I've seen one of these done in British service before, usually see them in the US Navy glossy blue.

PM sent.

Yes, there are three; I have extra copies of all of them.....

MPM - injection and vac-form hybrid; forward fuselage is supposed to be cut away, and vac-form canopy tacked on. This seems overly complicated, and the kit seems overscale to me.

Aerodrom - injection moulded; a  bit clunky, but I still prefer it to Mach2

BritAvia - vacform with metal parts. I built one of these as a Dragonfly, and it turned out to be surprisingly easy!

Sikorsky R5 / S51 in 1/72?

Are there any alternatives to Mach 2's Sikorsky S51HO3 kit in 1/72?

I've been looking and that is all I can find. From what I've heard Mach 2 kits tend to leave a lot to be desired.

Also can anyone recommend a source for Mach 2 kits? Ive found it at Squadron, Internet Hobbies and Great Models. GM has the best price at $31 but its a special order and GM doesn't have the best rep for items not in stock. Why am I asking if I've found it? Well if I'm going to buy a bad kit I'd like to pay as little as possible. Smile [:)]
