AH-1W Super Cobra
Posted by Hellcat on Thursday, April 24, 2008 1:39 AM

Hello,

I'm Vasilij from Switzerland. My English is really far from perfect, I'm sorry! This is 'my' AH-1W Super Cobra, 1/35, MRC-Academy. A lot of details I have scratchbuild. So, I hope you enjoy the pictures :)

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Great job on the Wiskey Cobra.  It looks lean and mean and ready to fight.  I like your weathering, and that very busy looking cockpit.  I bet some of those scratch built details are there in the pit. The weapons racks look great.

Plus, your english is just fine.  Unfortunately, I cannot congradulate you in your own language.  Thanks for learning ours and thanks for sharing pictures of your build.

Semper Fi,

Chris

Hi, Chris

Thank you! Here a few pictures of the scratchbuild:

Cockpit:

> Aircondition-System

> The 'white'-areas

> The Fire extinguishers

> The optical-area in front of Super Cobra

> The Runners makers...sorry, I don't know if this is the right word...

> A few other things:

> The weapons racks on the right:

Wow, I must say that is not only the best Cobra I have seen here, but it would arguably be the best model I have seen here, period.  That TOW rack looks real and I seriously thought this was a joke, being someone posted a real Cobra and passed it off as a model.  I just saw one of these up close, and with it fresh in my mind, your accuracy is impeccable.  Please show more pics, that is truely a piece of art.  And the squadron choice is perfect!  Well done, Mike.

I'm not fooled.  You took my picture and put it in photoshop!

Supercobra, LOL!  What a great model, wow.  Has anyone attempted to fab the new exhausts yet?  That would be some work...

Welcome to the forum.  Awesome build!  You and Andy (Intruder Bass) must be related.  I love all the scratchbuilt stuff.  Aftermarket items are great, but sometimes it's nice to build it yourself.  Thanks for sharing!

Not to hijack the thread but yes, I've got a pretty good start on making a pair of turned exhaust.

Back to the thread - looks awesome - you caught all of the nit noid details that bug me.  Looks awesome!  Only one thing left - open up the bottom of the turret - there is no bottom cover.

Vasilij, you have a GREAT eye for detail. Congratulations on a fantastic build, and thank you for posting the pics to share.
