The Sprite kit isn't terrible, and with some effort, can be built up into a nice model of a late H-2.  It suffers from lack of detail on the interior, but with the Cobra Company interior and exterior detail sets, you can build a world class SH-2F (or HH-2D).

I like the Italeri 1/72 kits, good selection of subjects, most are good, even those that aren't the best are still decent, none to really avoid that I know of. At $10-15 for most they won't make you cry if they don't come out so well.

In the larger scales the Testor's H-43 Husky isn't bad, its an older kit and interior detail is minimal, but it goes together fairly well, is an easy build of an odd subject and you can't really go wrong with a $15 1/32 kit.

The 1/35 Heller Super Frelon is actually a pretty good kit.  Finely molded and full of details.  It is a nice kit to build, bt may be a little complicated as a first build.  The Academy 1/35 UH-1C kits are much better first build, or maybe something in a smaller scale.  The 1/35 helos are quite big, esp. the Super Frelon.

Sorry,I don't know anything about the Sea Sprite.

Good luck.

Maybe try Revell/Monograms 1/48 Huey Hog. It is a fairly inexpensive simple kit. Good detail and fir out of the box. Single color overall paint scheme.

Hey all.

I'm getting ready for my first helo build and I was looking for a little advise.

I am normally a armor builder so this may be a small challange for me.

I have a Heller super frelon and the matchbox/revell Sea sprite kits to start with.

I understand that both of these kits are a bit poor but I don't want to start with a spendy kit.

You got a telegram from headquarters today. Headquarters--what is it? Well, it's a big building where generals meet, but that's not important right now. [ img] f_armorsecretm_ac7eb73[/ img]
