Korean War issue rations had an extremely long shelf life, so i don't foresee any problem with them being issued to U.S. Troops during the early stages of vietnam...As far as wood vs. cardboard, I'm not completely sure... You may want to do a google search to be certain...

Thanks for the info. I also have a Hudson and Allen C rats 1950 Korea set that should go well. Looks like I will use both Cs and Ks on my Marine Pershing.

In Vietnam in '67-'68 we were getting both. So, in Korea there would still be "K" rations used.

The "C" rations were much better though.

C rations vs. K rations

The Tamiya M26 comes with 2 wooden K ration boxes. Does anyone know if these were still used in Korean war or had we switched exclusively to cardboard C ration cases by then? K ration boxes look good with 3 decals for each. I'm doing Korean USMC version.
