Unfortunately, your history classes won't go into detail about tactics, deployments, and the specifics guys talk about on this and other sites. You'll have to do that research yourself and ask questions of the posters here. History at your level and through high school tends to be a general overview rather than a detailed study of history. For example, you may hear of the French and Indian War in US History, but it's very unlikely that you'll learn it is known as the Seven Years War in Europe and it extended as far away as India. You'll read about the War of 1812 but will probably not be taught that the British were at war in Europe with Napoleon's France at the time and couldn't devote its full attention to the US.

Ok thanks im looking to have mabe a flying fortress crash landing,us and german troops and tanks in a city, thats my ideal i steed need to reserch a little bit, do you now any good sites where i can look at other dioramas?

You might want to rethink your story line, if I'm getting you right. Crash landing and city don't work together. A pilot with any control over his aircraft is not going to try to land in a city. Also, tanks typically engage from distances of several hundred yard, though in a city setting, you could have them near each other.

Good luck... Let us know when you get it narrowed down a bit tighter... The size, subject, and scale matter quite a bit in answering youur question...

Are you talkin' about ground material for the "earth"?  If so, there are a few different ways... Using Celluclay is the most popular, but there's others as well... Plaster (can get heavy as hell), real sand/dirt (has another set of problems with "biologicals"), and plaster/dirt/sand/Celluclay (heavier than plaster) types, to name a few... Whatcha lookin' to do?

What is the best way to make a foundation or ground on the diorama?
