I am creating a 1/24 scale diorama of the Bounty launch, fully loaded with 19 occupants, as it was set adrift by the mutineers. Does anyone have suggestions about creating a base that would resemble a moderately choppy sea - translucent, bluish-green with good surface detail? I have been collecting info about various casting resins and might be able to pull it off, but would appreciate hearing from more experienced nautical diorama builders about short-cuts or tips that would enhance the realism of the water. Thanks.
