Figure Freak, Those are some nice figures. I hit up squadron last month for some figures. Got the set your working on now the U.S. tankers in the background and a few others. Can't beat those deals!

Just one thing, and it's very possible I could be wrong, Medics are considered non-combat troops and would not be allowed to carry weapons and ammo.

Wow, what figure painting guide do use? and what brand of paints do use? I have already tried some figures and they did not turn out the best...

Thanks, Jim.

Tell you the truth, im pretty much pure expierementation, i use the 1 dollar paints from wal mart, the colors i use for faces are tiger lilly, skin tone, and burnt umber, also red, prime it in regular 1 dollar spray can primer in a very light coat, paint a base coat of 30% skin tone, 30%burnt umber, and 30% tiger lilly and 10 %water. Let that dry and then take a burnt umber wash probably two times does it in all the recesses, then its time for the flesh take 60%flesh tone and 40%tiger lilly you can add a tiny amount of burnt umber amd mix it pretty thin (consitency of paint  is key play around until the flesh apears smooth) and dont directly apply it to the shadows especially the eyes then you can rosy the cheeks with red mixed with flesh tone and put it on the lips too that you used earlier and you can do the jaw line with a little less red and finally highlight the nose and chin with pure flesh tone and paint the eyes however you wish i might do a tutorial for you later, this is the easiest method ive used and youll get it down after a couple face

good luck

Just one thing, and it's very possible I could be wrong, Medics are considered non-combat troops and would not be allowed to carry weapons and ammo.

During the Second World War, U.S. Army policy ( under the Geneva Convention) was that Medics could carry defensive weapons (Pistol or Carbine, plus a fighting knife) to defend themselves and their patients if they desired... Many did not, since they considered a weapon and ammo as just extra weight to lug around.   A rifle or SMG is considered an offensive weapon, so a Medic with an M1, M3, or a Thompson was no longer a non-combatant...

Its that 67 yr old brain! HAHAHA!!! j/k!

FF, your figures are looking excellent. Continue to challenge yourself and you'll see your builds continue to improve.

I've kind-of lost my touch with WWII era builds, so I'm just curious .... is the medic's red cross just a little big? Or is that just me?

It might be, ill have to research that, hans, i trien to look last night but i couldnt find my medic another hand and didnt want to sacrifice another figure thanks for the tips ill look up medics

Edit, the cross is slightly too big and i think ill just take the one off the helmet and leave the armband because i did some reasearch and saw only on photo with a cross on the helmet

Looks good so far, just make sure that you vary the grass and foliage color a little bit, also, I do not know if you were already planning on this but you should also do the same thing to the rocks? I am doing the same kind of bridge thing with my Normandy diorama, ( just I am building the whole bridge because it is in 1/72 scale ). I would also suggest looking over this post for ground working ideas, it has helped me a lot!
/forums/1/1007349/ShowPost.aspx#1007349 it is 1/72 but the same rules apply.

Again, great work, your figure painting is way better than mine, Jim!

Looking better with every update!, I do not think that the dark bricks are to dark, but maybe you might want to add some brown in there? just my two cents..

Nice job on the grass, Jim.

I suppose like a Raw Umber shade type thing? There is a picture of what I mean on the link I gave you. It is on the first page about half way down the first post.

   Hope that helps, Jim.
