Yes, the figures that I'd completed thus far probably took the longest; and there are still quite a few left; want to make sure the civvies turn out just right.

Somehow I missed that Febuary update--the building looks so good--it loves the close-up man, the textures' awsome.

I hopw you are really taking time with completing the figures--this build deserves it.

Yea, originally I had planned to make a coffee table with a BR-52, Karl Morser and other beasts inside, but it was just too big and ambitious. Even this one, honestly, is probably just too big, but I needed something to display the morser which is going in there.

As for the MiniArt buildings, i got them off ebay probably about a year or two ago, for very good prices. For what I paid for them, they are fantastic. You really just have to take a bit of care when assembling it, since they are vacu-form and obviously do not have perfect fit, but are otherwise great for the money.

I have something similar in mind, with a BR52, a Morser and maybe a cpl flat cars in some sort of railyard setting. Damn thing will be nearly 8' when done, but I've only done 1 dio and it looked pretty "first timey".  What do you think of the Miniart buildings?? I've been reading FSM for a cpl years now, and it seems a lot of people scratchbuild them, which I think is cool, but the "ease" of the Miniart's would be good...Crap, I'm rambling. Excellent work, I had seed this thread last summer, and wondered what happened..Anyway..."Goood yob, Meng"

Finally an update on this one; most of the base painting is done, and two buildings are mounted. The colour is under a pretty lousy light, but it will have to do for now
Now, back to some figure painting I think, or some details for the base. All comments welcome.

Well finally an update. I finished the last building
and have gotten a start on the army of figures I have to paint.
I've managed to finish the display area and get a piece of
plexiglass cut to size, and mounted it. Finally, I can start
painting the base. After I perform some final skin-tone touch-ups
on the figs.

The diorama looks great. The painting and weathering of the buildings and vehicles looks exceptional. Reminds me that  I have a few dioramas to get working on again.

Hmm, good idea on the cable. It looked fantastic when it was unpainted, and when the paint and washes went on, it all just unraveled.

The only two details that caught my eye that look out of place are the desert floatation tires on the Kublewagon and the string on the crane. Being set in urban Germany the tires should be standard issue ones with tread. A few fine lengths of silver wire twisted in a drill would better simulate lift rated cable, a quick black wash and some light rust pigment is more convinceing. Actually it IS a miniature cable.

Good eye, working on that darn wheel now. The suspension is actually glued in place. I don't know how I overlooked it.

Really impressive work thus far.  I'd kind of lost track of this WIP for awhile and am glad I stumbled back on it. 

One thing I see is that it looks like some of your roadwheels are floating in the above pic.  Starting from the left, #3 and #5 look to be above the track.   If it is a workable suspension, obviously that should be no problem...

Ok, brief update. I finished this guy before Christmas, just did not have time to pist. Anyways, all comments welcome. Not sure about the exhaust, something about it just doesn't look right to me. May just hit it with a coat of pigments still.

Hey Zoran, this building really looks great. Nice painting. I especially like the gate / garage door. Very realistic.

I wouldn't worry too much about the similar color shades, from the structure to the pavement. Seems like washes and pigments, when dirtying up the road, could allow you to keep their tones different.

The Miniart buildings are not all that bad. They are vacuform kits, so there is a lot of careful cutting, filling, and sanding involved. I got mine a while ago for a pretty good price. However, for the prices they go now, I'd probably look to get a plaster or resin kit instead. The sides, when they join, are really quite weak. I ended up cutting up strips of styrene and bonding them to the insides to provide structural integrity. Otherwise, I would have found it difficult to handle and paint after assembly. Overall though, since they are styrene, they are really easy to work with, and the details, IMO, are pretty nice.

Just a very quick update tonight, haven't had much time to work on this. Next week I will start painting the next building.

Ummm.... looks like some silvering around the 'G' decal?

I only took a quick look, but I think it looks good.
