No only three men are being photographed the other 4 are playing cards. I think I might put in Stug III with a Verlinden Interior.

There are lots of figure kits of German tankers being photographed, ie posing for the photographer etc. I like the Master Box kit, can't remember the name (something like "German Tankers 1943", etc). I can't put my finger on the Alanger kit; Is it a rebox of the ICM kit (or vice-versa)?

The Mk IVD would probably not be a wise choice...the 251's you are using are of mid to late-war and the D model was phased out of front-line service in early '42 in favor of the long-barreled F2 and G...the Tamiya Opel is a gem of a kit...

I think that you should go with the Tamiya cargo truck, I think that it would go very well with the setting that you have discribed.

       Thanks, Jim

Both truck kits are really nice, you'd be amazed at how good the Russian maker is getting at them too. I have a few Zveeda Russian trucks in the stash and they are really nice kits (also cheap)(under $16 @ www.squadron.com !)Ever think about having that (other) model  be a burnt-out one, off to the side? If you go with another German model-I vote for AA . You have a MBT & Recce car...Just a couple ideas....

I would go for the truck. The 251/17 C was only used by the Hermann Goering Div which i think was in Italy at the time, and the 17 D wasn't in use at the time.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Yes I realized that as soon as i finished typing it and hoped that no one would notice. I want to show that the panther and Sdkfz 221 are close to the front and need to be refueled or are doing recon in which case i would use one of the half-tracks

I think the German need more fire power there. How about adding a Flak 36/37 instead of an armor? BTW, it's "input", not "imput" that you asked for. ;-)

The Tamiya truck comes with some fuel drums and i have some from Academy's German Tank Supplies and Crew. But I'll probably end up buying some more supplies and various junk

It would be cool if you can add fuel drums and ammunition in the back of cargo truck and some drums on the ground next to the tank waiting to be refueled or something like that.  Hope we can see your process in the forum... good luck! Thumbs Up [tup]

Hi.

If your going for a rest & refuel look, then I vote Cargo Truck.

The Tamiya kit is great but first look at the new Zvezda kit of a WWII German Heavy 4WD cargo truck L4500 A(#3596) for two reasons.

1st- No injecter-pin marks on ANY of the woodwork details, and

2nd- No mold seemlines running down the center of the leaf springs. Much easier clean-up.

Good Luck on whichever you choose and lets see some WIP pics, OK??

I am currently working on a dio set in Russia 1943. I have a Panther A Early, Sdkfz 221, and various figures, the dio is of some tankers resting and refueling. My dio base is very large and I am looking for one more vehicle to use. I have narrowed it down to a few and would like your opinion. Thanks.

TAMIYA - 1/35 GERMAN 3TON 4X2 CARGO TRUCK
Dragon 1/35 SdKfz 251/17 Ausf.C w/2cm gun
Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251/17 Ausf.D w/2cm Schwebelafette
Dragon 1/35 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf D - with 7.5cm Kw.K.40 L/43

If not one of these could you suggest another vehicle to use.
