A google image search returned a pretty nice set of pics.  Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but if it is just a rough idea of terrain, you'll find plenty.  Might have to dig a little deeper to find specific fortifications, but that should be doable, too (I didn't bother to try).

Here is the search I used...

Where's this located? Based on my own refs for a few Italian dios I'm working on/have planned (Monte Cassino/Anzio/etc)- this looks accurate to the area. Mountainous, destroyed cities, light vegetation (Anzio and Monte Cassino battles- Operation shingle took place in the Jan.- May months), rocky- here are some good Wiki pictures: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Monte_Cassino

Wiki and Google are your best friends when it comes to ref pictures. Same with Flicker. Just takes getting your search keywords right. Even try looking up Italian geology, or landscape. Good luck!

I have it and it is actually what inspired me. Ive had one turret in the spares box for a while and will have two more after i complete some conversions i am working on. After seeing the article I came up with the idea of using them as Pantherturms somwhere in Italy. In response to the post before yours I was planning something to fit the terrain of the Gustav Line. Probably around Monte Cassino and the Liri Valley. If anyone know where I can get some pics of this terrain it would be of great help.

That it shouldnt be hard to do at all, all you need are the turrets honeslty.  What kind of hillside are you going to put them in, little hill, small cliffs Dday like bluffs?

I havn't seen any bunkers in/ near trenches, I don't know how close together they were either. But sounds like a good idea. This is the only good picture I found, if you need ref...

Italy is part of Europe...some were used in Berlin and some other major city-fortresses, but most were used in Italy...

Im gonna have some Panther turrets left over after I finish some conversions Im working on. I am thinking of doing a dio set on the German defensive lines in Italy. My idea is to have a trench system cut into a mountainside with a machine gun or observation bunker in the middle and emplaced Panther turrets on each side. I know they were used in Italy but I have only been able to find pics of ones in Europe. Does this sound like a likely cofiguration?
