Hans where can you get scale speakers for the Sherman? What about shells with paint in them?

TAP: Its best to start small and as you get experience be more adventurous. Keep looking at reference photos and find one that works for you and use that as your springboard.

I was actually thinking about the speaker question once upon a time and if it was feasalble to mount a small speaker from an earphone into a Sherman turret and play, "I've Been Working on the Railroad" through it... 

I need a suggestion on the base of the dio.

You mean on the materials or construction of the groundwork or both?  The action being depicted and its location (urban, wooded, open field, roadway, etc) will determine what groundwork to model..

Thanks fer the tip on the Academy set.  I got the Italeri kit on-hand... I think what I'd do is rob the gun from it, then do an Isherman of some sort... I'm not exactly sure of the nomenclature of this one. It appears to be an Isherman of some sort, but not an M51.  The caption said it's a "Latrun", whatever that is.  The gun appears to be about 76mm, but I'm not sure who's it is, but the gun would be easy enough scratchbuild with a bit of brass tube and a muzzle brake from somewhere, like a Panther, don't ya think?

It is at Latrun, which is the Isreali Armored Corps Museum near the Latrun Monastery.

I know that the Israelis rearmed some of their Shermans with a French built version of the KwK 42/L70. The obtained them off AMX-13 tanks the French had sold them.

Ya think that's the AMX 13 gun then? I know it ain't the 105 on the M-51.. TUbe's too short, doesn't taper, and the muzzle brake is wrong..
