railway dio
Posted by Tankluver on Sunday, October 18, 2009 5:55 PM

I'm planning on making a dio of a German tanks on flat cars. There will be 3 flat cars. 1 having a panzer IV J and another having a panzer III N. On the side road will be a Tiger driving down a road or just waiting in an idle position. Ill have a railcar that has troops in it unloading. My question is what Are some good winter infantry kits for this dio? I'm planning on using the DML kit with peiper in it, but I also need some winter kits of infantry marching and such. I mite add another vechile but im unsure of that right know any suggestions?

Plastic or resin, the choices / selections of German infantry in winter gear are close to endless. Just gotta get online and see what interests you.

Sounds like a lot of armor and train gonna appear in this dio. Good luck with the project.

I'm also working on a Dragon 1/35 Schwerer Plattformwagen Typ SSy. Remember that the Tiger needs the heavier flat car. How about a halftrack or truck  on one of the flat cars just to add some variety?

I was actually thinking that the tiger would be on the side of the road like it had already been taken off a railcar and had been pressed into battle. But im torn between putting a halftrack or another vechile on the side of the road with the tiger im even considering a Tiger II porsche turret design on the side of the road with the tiger, how would that look?

How big will the base be? Sounds like a very large one.

im not exactly sure I still have to get 2 more railcars and the tiger as well as the panzer IV and III that will be on the flat cars. Im thinking 2 flatcars will be connected and another gondola on a track that's next to the railcars, the gondola is unloading infantry on the road where the Tiger is at.
