diaroma/display case
Posted by DA6righthand on Monday, October 19, 2009 7:47 PM

I'm building a Tamiya Bf109 Trop and I want to make a basic diorama (sand and something to support the aircraft like "wood") but I don't ant to waste my time building something that can't be in a display case to be protected from dust. Where can I get me a decent display case to house a 1/48th scale plane?

Thanks for future answers!

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they may carry a plexy glass case that's about 12"X12". Google plexyglass display cases and you will find a bunch on line too.

Make your own.  You can use the size of base you want, then make your own custom cover for it.

I buy display cases from Hobby Lobby with 40% coupon of course!  These displayment cases are not that expensive... between $15-$30.  I bought one recently that holds a football (7 inches X 15 inches) for only $19 using the coupon.  And I plan to use its wood base that comes with the case for the diomara.  I wish I can make my own displayment but having two boys, a job and a wife who won't leave me alone until she is in bed.

LMAO!  Good one... Scott, I will let you figure it out.  Too bad the only best time I can model is when everybody is their bed after 9-10pm therefore not giving me enough time to do much unless I stay up very late.
