Skeletons, anyone?
Posted by B.T.Hyperpotamus on Friday, December 4, 2009 11:28 AM

Hi All,

I'm working on a humorous / macabre diorama for which I need human skeletons 3-3.5" tall (theoretically 1/25th scale, but a little bigger would be fine, up to about 94mm).  I've been web-searching, but haven't found a thing (well, okay, loads of skeletons, but none that size).  Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?  Any material is fine, so long as an experienced modeler can work with it.  Thanks.

............Monogram had a realistic looking skeleton with their "Little Coffin" show car. I've seen it used in a number automotive dioramas over the years. The kit was last released in the ninties.

Monogram has re-released their Rommel's Rod. It has 2 skeleton figures you could probably work with. Hope this helps.

You could try the Airfix Skeleton, which is 1/6th scale. It is out of production, but can be easily had in shops & on Ebay.

Darn! Too bad I don't have that Airfix kit in my stash; then I could truly say I have a skeleton in my closet!Big Smile

......................The skeleton in the Boot Hill Express kit was the same as the one in the Lit' Coffin kit with a cowboy hat added. The skeletons in the Rommel's Rod kit seem to be over simplified with too few ribs. Of course that problem could be salved with the right size Evergreen strips.
