Dio idea: I need you guys input
Posted by modelbuilder on Thursday, February 18, 2010 9:25 PM

I am wanting to do a dio and have been slowly gathering items. The idea I have is for a scene that may have been witnessed in Italy in WWII. An emplaced Panther turret as a central point of a defensive line with an observation point and possibly a machine gun emplacement with trenches connecting them. Any idea of an online source where I can find specs for German bunkers so I can scratch my own? Any ideas as to how best to go about this? This will be only my second dio.

Verlinden used to have a number of bunker/trench bases in their line. I don't know if their still in production.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Heh! Fine Scale Modeler special issue 'Essential Techniques for the Model Builder' has a article on scratch building the Pantherturm emplacement. Page 72. The issue was on display untill August 2009. You probally can order one on the home page here.

Does anyone have a spare Panzer Tracts 21-2 they might part with? If you dont have a spare can someone scan the scale drawings out of it and send to me?
