                        At the moment i am considering doing an ambush dio, but the problem is how can i make my empty bullet casings, or can i buy them??
                        any ideas will be very welcome

                        How about one of these..

                        1. Stretch some sprue and cut it into tiny segments and paint them copper coloured
                        2. Do the same, but with metal wire.

                        20 thousandths (.020) brass rod, available at virtually any LHS, chopped into about 1/16th inch lengths with wire cutters, will make dozens of spent rounds for about 20 cents a rod. No need to paint either!

                        Leopold has this one nailed ... one thing you did fail to mention though is what scale you intend on making this dio in. It may have an affect on the size of brass rod used.

                        my hobby shop sells alot of wire of different thicknesses in the RC section, check yours and maybe get a small one and cut it into minature peices, cant remember if it is in steel or brass.

                        Missionmodels.com has spent casings for sale. They are selling 50 caliber and IIRC, 23 mm shells and possibly some other sizes as well.
