Hello mr. Maniac_Jeff, welcome to the forums!

I have to say you are a brave man yourself, first post on the forums and already getting angry and having courage to express it! It takes some anatomical parts to do it!

On the other hand, if you opened your eyes a little wider and read some posts on this forum, you would most probably notice a few details, here, let me point them out for you:

- ModelManiac differs significantly from most other forum members. He's not a builder, he's a collector. Pictures he posts show models built by the people he hired. I think we all respect ModelManiac for his consequence in posting threads, that get a lot of critique.

- If we as forum members are asked for comments and don't comment, the forum dies. If we give comments and aren't honest, the quality of the forum suffers.

- You ask who cares? I can tell you for sure I DO care. I'd like to see nicely built models posted here. If they are not so nice, no problem, maybe I can help improve them by commenting. If somebody reads that, maybe he can build a better model himself by avoiding the pitfalls. If you dont handle critique well, the agreement is you shouldn't post or write you don't want comments

- I don't think "mediocre" is an insult, and so I think nobody was insulted here.

Sure, model building is unimportant when comared to fightin a war for example. But since I'm at it I try to build good models. Don't you expect your soldiers to do a good job whatever they do?

Awright, I'm stepping off now, best wishes to ModelManiac and I wish you all a nice day

Pawel

Ditto Yes keep the comments constructive, anything else is counter productive to the forums.

Well said Pawel!Yes

Great Dio, I think your pretty brave posting a pic on here. Who care what other people say if all they want to do is pick it apart. Instead of insulting you on where you put your men etc and what and how you diorama depicts why dont they comment on your paint job/ diorama building etc?? Im sure thats what you were leaning towards when you asked for comments etc. This is exactly why I dont and wont post anything on here or anyother magazine. Especialy comment from people who were never in the military themselves claiming to be expert on tactical situations on taking out a bunker and the placement of the vehicle and men. You may have been wrong in that aspect and who the heck cares????? I thought modeling was supposed to be fun and enjoyable and be able to share our hobby around with out being cut down and insulted, If I was some young kid why would I want to display anything??? just to be cut down?? no wonder our hobby is declining in the new generation and they are leaning towards computers and I cant get my 3 sons to pick up the hobby (2 lazy)  they would rather design and play online then a hobby where your cut down for imagination etc

sorry this was so long just got pissed reading all the negative comments

p.s. I was in the military for 20 years and been modeling over 30 years I think im qualified for my statement   MODEL ON EVERYONE!!!

You must be new. Are you aware that Modelmaniac DID NOT build the diorama? He only COLLECTS the models and post here.

From the title -- "Strumpioniers" -- I envisioned more a Manstein's Revenge kind of thing, with some French strumpet entertaining some pioneers.

I believe the plural for "storm-pioneers" is "sturmpionieren."

This dio I don't get, the "looking for my keys" dio with the same kit but with a mine clearing guy was one thing, but that vehicle and all those people would be destroyed if that flame thrower went off. And I agree, with most other comments on both this dio and all previous dios by AI, you need to show him/ tell him these easy fixes. He is semi-skilled at painting and displaying, but this dio lacks any sense.

had there been more space, the flamethrower guy would have been in a ideal place behind the halftrack

great dio. but i see no use in putting the flamwerfer guy on the hood of the vehicle

AI always use everything in the box even though it doesn't have room for it or it doesn't make any sense. He build his model per the instructions. It's been like this for years. The diorama lacks sense and history. The models lacks basic building skills (like removing seams).  AI don't get much input from the comments from here because he keeps making the same mistakes (lack of rubble in ruins, same shade of paint in all the uniforms, using straight black, using everything in the kit, etc.)

Nice base!

It has many more issues than just the flamethrower guy on the front of the halftrack.  Why would they walk up that close to the bunker.  Obviously it is abandoned or they wouldn't be able to get that close to it.  If it is abandoned, there is no need for them to detroy it with that many guys.  A single demo charged placed by one soldier would do it.  You would never want the vehicle that close either.  The whole bunker doesn't really work historically as well.  Most of the fortifications the Germans faced were permanant concretefortifications along the French border.  The other nations they faced used hastily-built fortifications that wouldn't have had well worn trails leading up to them.  Its just not right.  Not to mention there are lots of mold seam lines present on the figures and the decals film is visible on the halftrack as well.  Standard fare from AI on a dio that just doesn't make sense.  More quantity over quality as usual.
