This is an idea I have been putting forth in my head for awhile. The time period will be during the breakout from Normandy/ Falaise Pocket. A Puma (sdkfz 234/2) abandoned by retreating troops by mechanical/fuel problems is placed on one side of the road. The vehicle has hatches open and as many of the storage bins opened as I can. scattered about it are a couple of fuel cans with the tops open, some miscellaneous gear and junk thrown about as well. A cordon line is also placed around the vehicle with crude placards saying things like "Keep Off", "Booby Trapped!", "Off Limits"
On the other side of the road is a M8 Greyhound refueling with the crew attending to matters. A couple of MP's are in the road directing traffic.
The idea came from wondering how a possible Puma would have been captured as one was during this period. The M8 might have been requested to support the MP's guarding the prize until a recovery unit could get to it. Maybe the bomb disposal team haven't inspected it or the MP's left the signs on it to discourage souvenir hunters.
The only additonal vehicle that might be included is a jeep or motorcycles for the MP's parked by the M8. I am leaning for the latter.
What do you think?
