I need help with a time & place...
Posted by rudedog on Monday, October 4, 2010 1:38 AM

..The last of my WW-2 stash are a 251-22 Pak 7.5 & a Pz IV Vorpanzer. What I'd like to know is which theater might these two be in the same place ? I'm guessing the Russian steppes. I'm also curious about what Paint schenes would be consistent with this pairing.I'm guessing the Panzer IV would have been later in the war, W/O Zimmerit & in Panzer Grau. The 251/22,I'm un-sure about. If My proposed dio is completely unrealistic, please let me know , too. Thank's. keith.

What version of the Pz IV do you mean by "Vorpanzer"?  (ausf D, E, H, J, etc?)  The SdKfz 251/22 was a later war weapon, so chances are if the PZ IV was in the same frame as it both vehicles would be in dark yellow / camo  not in Gray.

The 251/22 didn't enter service until around Dec 44, so it wouldn't have been seen on the Russian steppe. Persoanlly, if you want historical accuracy, i wouldn't put these two together. It may have been possable if there was a Vorpanzer taken from a training unit and used in a last ditch battle somehwere. As for colours, the Vorpanzer would be gray, the /22 would be camo.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I think you'd be better off posting this question to the armor forum. Some people from there, like Hans von Hammer just rarely take a peak into dioramas. Hope it helps, have a nice day

Okay,I'm stumped....

...The only two pertinent referances to Zuiho were that,#1, it was a converted oiler turned aircrafy carrier sacrificed as bait & #2, a Zen Buddhistwho beleived in textual learning rather than just passing on traditional lore. Then there's "229". the Horten brothers last flying wing design. Cat whiskers, not a clue [ other that if you cut them off ,they can't walk backwards. I think I need something more definitive.  rudedog

You're taking MR's answer too literally. The cat whiskers refers to my Panther Mk IX in ambush scheme (he is sitting in the chair by my disaster of awork bench). You'll need to do a search of odds and ends for the others, but as a hint Pickles the cat features on a $229 bill.

Do the search, I'm sure you will regret it. Devil

He took his revenge by putting some guy in an old converted plane and send him out into combat like throwing a cat into a dogfight?

I thought the revenge was a bad case of the Hershey Squirts.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
