Latex will probably work. The model railroad folks have a product call Mountains In Minutes. See if you can find a bottle.
Spread it on; let it dray; peel it off.
I haven't used rubber cement myself, but I would guess you can leave it on as long as you like, then, again just guessing, you could just work a bit of it up and peel it off. Poster tack is what I would use. I use it all the time in landing gear bays.

I am building a building corner ruin with stucco covering brick. There are small to medium- sized exposed pockets of brick. Most of the survace will be stucco. I have a base in Vallejo buff. What is the best way to mask these pockets of brick when doing the stucco surface?
