A Tip About Mirror Displays
Posted by NorthStar-02 on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 4:48 PM

In the December 2010 issue was an article about creating dioramas and scenes with mirrors.  I just wanted to say that when gluing the mirror to its backboard, you don't want to use silicone adhesive.  The chemicals in the silicone react negatively with the mirror's silvering.  I repaired a small shaving mirror that fell out of its frame using silicone.  About two weeks afterwards, the mirror had several dark splotches all over it in the shape of the silicone.
