Fermis,

I have tried great stuff.  It will carve with razors fairly easy.  It sands too.  If you make a mold you may want to try spraying the mold with a cooking spray or some mold release 1st.  I use it at work all the time and it does not like to stick to PVC,  or 6 mil plastic.  I used it to make some ridges on one of my project I am working on.  Sprayed a little more than I needed and carved it to size. Smoothed it to the final with joint compound.

Good luck

Regards,

T

Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

Mold making ?

Has anybody ever tried using "Great Stuff" (foam/insulation) to make a mold from?

I made a display base, and rather than go through that headache again, I'd like to make a mold and cast a couple copies. I have done my homework on other options, but didn't find anything on "Great Stuff". I'd like to get by as cheap as possible........ya'll think "Hammer" is cheap.....I'd give him a run for for his nickel!!!Stick out tongue
