O scale IS 1/48th.  Shouldn't be any problems getting civvies in that scale.

Thivi: Civilion figures might be a little hard to find. There's resin ones of course but they're expensive. I think MasterBox does a couple of Second World War sets you might use. And Preiser does a couple as well.

Model railroad figures would be good but the scale is way off from most military stuff. HO- 1/87th scale, G- 1/25th. O at 1/43 might be usable with 1/48 armour if you can find the LAV in that scale.

Good luck!

So what was a thread asking for a little help spiraled into what IMO sounds like a decent/do-able project. I'm going to work from this picture:

I saw an article a while ago in FS that depicted a 1/35 scale truck, covered in figures. I think they say there were over 100 figures either in, on, or hanging from the truck, or along the side of the road. I'd like to take that idea and apply to this. I'll do Trumpeter's LAV III kit, painted in white and with UN markings, not weathered, mostly just dusted up. And place it on a road, with what I hope will be numerous civilians around the scene; I've also thought of replicating the tents as well. Maybe not as many people as the picture but hopefully enough to get the image done well.

Any feedback/ideas are encouraged. I'll get started on the LAV and maybe get some pictures up soon.

By the way, does anyone know where I can get a hold of a bunch of suitable figures. I've got a while to find them.
