Red Devils at Arnhem.

Hello all,

its been a while since I posted here!

Last year I began work on a dio that I had wanted to build for a very long time. Inspired by the stories of brave British Paratroopers and their part in Operation Market Garden, I have wanted to build my own small tribute to the men of 1st Para. Div.

My dio depicts a lull in the fighting on day two with the British Para's taking refuge around the ruins of a town house. I took a lot of pics, these are a taster of what you can see on the slideshow I've put together.

Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to tell me what you think, good or bad.

Nice work in all aspects of the display, it looks busy without being crowded. The figures are really well done and I assume a few were modified like the soldier drinking a cup o' tea?

Thanks! The only figure I modified was the chap leaning into the Horch car. The rest were OOB. The figure you refer to is a radio operator produced by a company called Resicast. Other figures came from Dragon and Verlinden.

Hi Eric!

Thank you very much! I have a great reverence for the Red Devils, two of my mates were Para's and I have met quite a few over the years. I wanted this one to look "right" and went to some trouble as to how and where to pose the figures and set the scene. I am so happy with the feedback I have received and look forward to showing this build to my mates.

As you know, I am more of an aircraft builder, but I have to say the Dark Side is very rewarding when one takes time with a subject. My next one is a smaller affair with a simple APC and a couple of figures. I'll post some pics when things get moving on that project.
