Didn't think of that, the air force ground units would have taken a while to catch up to the fast moving air units.
Its amazing what you notice in the photos that you don't see on the actual kit.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

They didn't notice either. Great job on the dio!

IIRC That's the only number plates they had in the kit, there where three choies but all where for the army. Besides it's on loan to the airforce for the build up of Luftwaffe personnel in France
That looks nice, like this dio alot. Just one point i would make, and that only becuase you are soon keen on accuracy you rebuilt a Kubel to get the right colour. The Kubel number plate has WH, this is Army. German airforce should be WL. I wouldn't change it myself now. And dosen't defelect from a great dio.
OK, got the grey Kubel all done! And in only two weeks! All weathered and attached to base.
The super glue fumes have been painted over.
Overall shot with new grey Kubel:
The grey Kubel is ready for decals and weathering. I used Tamiya German Grey (I had it in stock) lightened with some white
Great work there Pilot. I just love seeing heavily weathered Birds.I saw a P-51 Mustang win 1st place the other week with 12 kills, NO WEATHERING, how do you get twelve kills and have no oil stains, *** or battle damage at all. Guess that's what happens when Auto Guys judge War Birds.
Keep it up!!!

OK I ran to the LHS and got another Kubel, and this one will be painted in Panzer Grey. In less than 20 days I will have this error fixed (show on the 21). I'll post the corrected version when the new Kubel is done. Stayed tuned.
BTW, thanks all for helping with my error
Not all 109's sported yellow noses during BoB so that isn't a big deal for me...but the Kubel would certainly have been in Panzer Grey, as the dark yellow color have not even been introduced for another 2 plus years...
Nice work, thanks for sharing!
Enjoy the ride!
Big fan of MM Panzer Grey... if you want it to look little faded, add a drop of sand or p off white. Nice work on your diomara... thanks for sharing.
Andy
I use Model Master Acrylic's Panzergrey.

the E-4s had the yellow noses, the E-3 (which this one is) didn't.
Thanks for the info on the Kubel. I saw France in the markings, and went with it. Need to check the date when I get home. If that's the case then .
A German scene from the movie Battle of Britain is racing through my head right now and the colors are grey. So thinking about it, the grey is probably right. Now, what color grey? Any way, time to go get another one.
I like your Emil. Didn't they have yellow noses during the BoB?
Your Kubel, though cool, should be painted grey for 1940, as dunkelgelb didn't come along until Feb. 1943. HTH.
All kits are 1/48 Tamiya kits. Kits are Bf-109E-3, and Kubelwagon (which included the two figures and map). I found some HO scale trees at the LHS and static grass. The scene is from a combination of two pictures from the "In Action Part 1" book from Squadron. The 109 was built for the Battle of Britain GB last fall.
Hope ya'll like!
