Need a grinning Chairman Who to complete the diorama. ;P He only smiled when the female blocks marched past I recall.

On a slightly more serious note, faces don't look very Asian though, but then again I have no idea on how to paint them to look like Chinese.

They look good for a sort of bland subject matter. I wonder how popular these PLA figure sets will be outside of China. But then again, with a two Zillion +/- population, I'm sure they'll sell...

These gals kind of look like an armed version of the Rockeetes of Radio City Music Hall fame. Stick out tongue

I enjoy your works there MM/AI and company.

Thanks,

Very nice MM! I picked up the set a few months ago just because it was so off the wall. First time I've seen the set painted up.

I've been thinking of doing them in a parade with the ZTZ-99 MBT shown.

Only question is my set came with enough heads, arms, and torsos to do eight figures but only legs for four figures like. There are four torsos of two types since the PLA Army blouse is different from the Navy blouse. Still you would have the option of doing four army and four navy except for only having four sets of legs Hmm

And thanks for the article AgentG. Though with a two inch/six cm figure for a person of Asian descent I just add a drop of leather brown to my skintone and cut back on the pick a little. Still the faces seem more European somehow which is odd since they're made by a Chinese company. Though on the other hand Han Chinese (which I assume these figures would represent) always somehow look more Western to me than Cantonese Chinese (who most Chinese-Americans descend from).

Just my two cents anyway for what little it's worth.

Love the Go-Go boots; add some mini skirts and you've got a winning combo. BTW,  i wonder if  they play "These boots are made for walking" when they approach the reviewing stand?

How come you didn't bash this diorama as pure Communist propaganda? Wink You tore the Fuhrer dio apart. Just wondering.

Why would anyone build 5 tigers or 10 bf-109's? Hmm

Thanks for all your kind comments, I really appreciate them.

deafpanzer - I'm afraid they just want to stay at my place.

potchip - Well, Chairman Mao was not there in PLA's 60th Year Anniversary.

agentg - that's a good link.

minimortar - I'm not Chinese and not in China, but I buy anything military including Chinese armors and soldiers. Thanks for enjoying our works.

Gamera - Thanks for your nice words. We have something in common. You've got this kit and I've got the same armor ZTZ 99A MBT with two upgrade sets from Voyager (VM PE35308 1/35 Chinese PLA ZTZ 99 MBT (for HB82438) priced at $ 6.96 + $ 0.00 and VM PE35323 1/35 Chinese PLA ZTZ 99/99A/99B Side Skirts priced at $ 3.99 + $ 0.00) But now my main modeler (AI) is working on the ZBD 04 IFV - the first digital camo'ed armor ever to be built.

BaBill212 - Thanks for your kind comments.

tigerman - Well, anything military will be bought and built sooner or later.

potchip - You're right. For Tiger I 1:35 alone I think I have over 30 of them.

I have the answer Alex. "What is: because they are there".

MM- very cool! When Al gets done with the ZBD 04 please post it - I love that crazy digital camo. And the ZTZs too if you would, I picked up the same Voyager sets too but probably it will take awhile for me to get around to it since I really hate working with PE. I like how it looks- just hate the work of putting it on. Seems like every piece I glue on I somehow knock off three other pieces... Embarrassed

I know MM. I was just thinking about the production justification of these chicks as I do not think that they would be all that popular outside of the PRC. Heck, I'm not Chinese and not in China either but, I have built a Chicom mortar model! Smile

And thanks for posting your works. Tell AI et al to keep up the good work!

Gamera - I agree with you about the hardship working with PE. The number of parts is pretty awful, I don't know whether AI can do this. Now I have another thought, I'll have this one built but not painted. And so I will find a metal barrel for it to make it look more metal than plastic. What do you think?

minimortar - talking about the production justification of this kit, you know they also produced 3 more kits of PLA male soldiers on parade from all 3 Forces Land, Air and Sea. You built Chicom mortar model? Is it in 1:2 scale? If so, I have one in stock. Bought years ago but still unbuilt.

Thanks for your support. You probably might have seen new works from AI which I posted a few days ago.
