Just a comment about the subject of the second vignette. The general looks like Hermann Goering and he is carrying a Field Marshall's baton. I am no expert on German uniforms so I'll end my comments here.

Deffinatly agree, looks like Goering to me. And his title was Reichsmarshall (sp). As for uniform,s Goerings were all in a world of there own.

I see those two, hitler walking down those steps and all I can hear in my head is... "Its spring time, for Hitler, and Germany!"

Seagol - I love the original movie version with Gene Wilder, Zero Mostel, and of course *** Shawn as the hippie actor playing Hitler. Zero with his wildness, Wilder with his comic angst and Shawn being Shawn.

I just thought, with a hitler saluting figure, it would NOT be hard to turn him into spring time for hitler... hitler...

Get a goosestepping legs and replace them with his, resculpt the hair to look alittle messed up on the face.  Mod the hand so its bend down in the limp wrist, it would be amazing!

I believe Goering had his own special baton with diamonds and the such. perhaps it was called a "Reich Marshall's Baton". I'm not really sure though.

Thanks for all comments on this thread.

Londo, I believe that AI - the builder - used all the means and methods to do this including drybrushing.

I would have called the second one 'The Fuhrer and the Fatman' myself... Wink

Don't know how accurate either are but I think the detail esp the faces came out very well. Yes

"The Fuhrer and the Fatman"? I don't agree. If you changed one then why not the other too? So, I myself would have called it "The Furious and the Fatso". :-)

AI's painting has improved of late but his seam control has suffered.  The baby carriage in the first vignette has a very noticeable casting seam that runs right through the blanket.  A little time with file and X-acto would have easily taken care of this.  The vignette with Hitler and Goering is well done by comparison.

Pat, you have very keen eyes. I didn't notice that before. Perhaps AI is now tired of work, he's been working for so long. Today I'll post new figures, vignettes and dio's painted by new artists for your comparison.

If you do that, and find me a place to get a fairly priced figure of hitler, ill do a 'Springtime for Hitler' diorama to go with it

Der Furher und Dicke Hermann... (Fatso Hermann)..

YEah, it's a Reichsmarschall Baton...  Goering created the rank and all his uniforms, as well as his baton(s), each of which went with his particular "uniform of the day"...

I've found and ordered the "Rommel Rod or something". It's been available recently and it comes with 3 figures:
