Road Warrior Interceptor
Posted by OctaneOrange on Monday, November 21, 2011 5:05 PM

This model is the Aoshima Road warrior (mad max 2) Falcon kit. i changed the rear parcel shelf to be only half length front-to-rear to correct it. i also replaced the box of dog food with one made from cardboard (with logo printed on it). i replaced the inner door cards with sheet styrene, cut to resemble the exposed skeleton of the falcon's door using two layers. I also added a few details to fill out the interior. The base was recycled plaster base, that i painted over the green grass to a desert brown colour and added a few tufts of grass.

Interceptor #2

Since this model was fairly badly damaged i decided to make lemonade and make it into the crashed interceptor, just before it blows up. I dented it up a bit more and i removed the roof spoiler (i imagined that it'd get broken off when the car rolled, as it's only fibreglass), and also some of the LH wheel arch (as it definitely broke off). i cut off the front (which was broken earlier in the movie). i weathered it a bit more (to match my interceptor 2) but added some silver scratching. The 'stuff' from the interior was spread around the debris field. i made the display base for it from a photo frame and some plaster mixed with dirt, then painted and weathered.

I must have some filtering at work that doesn't let me see the photo's, but I can't see anything.
