at something burned. This is the ICM Studebaker US6 in 1/35th, and somehow it just does not look done to me. Any ideas, anyone?

More black soot? Perhaps burn some wood and sprinkle some of the ash. I haven't

done a burnt vehicle dio yet so just throwing out some ideas. Hopefully someone else will post soon.

Somehow the flames missed the radiator? The back's too clean? No ashes where the tires burned off? Needs some blown out glass remnants?

Check out these Google images of burned cars: www.google.com/search

Actually the radiator is one thing I'm happy with...black painted brass radiators turn grey when the paint burns off them. The rest of your suggestions have considerable merit tho, will have to impliment. Thanks also, Ghost, thank the both of you for our honest observations.

Good diorama.

I like the subtle rust effect.

My only  suggestion is consider more debris around the vehicle such as glass and some equipment bits and bobs.

Mig pigments supply a good ash effect for the burned out wheels.

So here's the second go around

The bright rust tones looked too bright, I thought they grabbed the eye too hard and did not have an interesting contrast so the pastels came out. Old school I know but Mig productions stuff is very difficult to find in Montana.

Needs more, and multicolored ash from the tires.

Closing in on it, I guess. Still does not look quite right to me.

Your additions have enhanced the effect. Good diorama.

May I again suggest scattering about a few items of equipment such as a helmet  a rifle or maybe some boxes.

I do not agree with you re the rust.  In my opinion it was spot on.

Keep up the good work.

Yes, that's something I've not yet gotten around to is abandoned junk/whatever laying about and it is a good suggestion which I will impliment sometime in the near future. This is still a WIP. As far as the rust goes I had originally thought to display this as something that had been sitting around for awhile, and that's why I did the original job as such. Once it all came together I noticed that I had failed to flatten the unburnt tires and at that point it was too late to do so. Since the only other option was freshly burnt, I felt that less rust, more blackening, and some whitish paint ash were called for thus the current changes. Perhaps I think too much.

Thanks for the nice comments, will update when I get a chance.

Mark
