Here's a few quick tips to get you started, that I used in the dio below. Building is made from thin styrofoam. Cut out doors, windows etc. and then coat with plaster (I used Selley's Rapid pre-mix). U can then paint to suit. Window shutters are painted ice-cream sticks, and the corrugated iron is simulated from ribbed cardboard. Timber is simulated with matchsticks or ice-cream sticks. Road pavers pattern I make by pressing into a thin layer of clay. I then paint with paver paint bought from the hobby shop. There are endless variations to how people create buildings and roads, but I hope these get you started.
