"Where Iron Crosses Grow" Diorama Part 2
Posted by gjw on Monday, December 31, 2012 5:19 PM

Hi everyone! Just thought I post some more pics. I just got some more barbwire laid down. and some tank obstacles. I also found the perfect figures for the diorama!

The display looks good, but I'd really suggest a better name plate. You should be able to find an iron cross reproduction on Ebay and get a nice engraved brass plaque from a trophy supply shop for a few dollars. Several model companies also make German (and other nationalities) insignia in resin.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thankyou for the compliment but I don't really commit 100% in these diorama unless they are my best ones. once again Thankyou!

The model and groundwork look terrific but I must agree with aj. Most trophy places will make a really nice small metal plaque for under $4, making it look better.

GJW, I love the idea (and the movie), and agree that an inexpensive brass nameplate will improve it noticeably for minimal investment. One tidbit of geography on the title, the Taman Peninsula is across a body of water separated from the Crimean Peninsula. They are separate landmasses.

Ya I noticed that. In part one I mentioned that I had to change that. Thx for the kind word :)

That would be the perfect set of figures for that diorama bringing in the relationship to the movie "Cross of Iron" to which the Dragon figure set seems to represent Sgt. Steiner's recon squad.
