Hello,im new to the forum,i have a ? i used real dirt on top of the celluclay&after all pieces,figs,armror was in place & all dried out after a few days,the tread marks,foot prints,ect all but disapeared.should that have been all mixed together first?or what?. any feed back,advice ect,would be most appreciated

It depends on how much dirt you put on top. You should just sprinkle enough on to cover the celluclay, then push in the feet and tracks to indent into the celluclay. You should also mix paint into the celluclay mix before you apply it so there are no big white spots.

When I mix the celluclay I pre-color it with a suitable shade acrylic paint mixed with the water and white glue. Then the tank tracks and footprints, mash them in a little deeper than you think, the wet celluclay will kind of bounce back/expand. I put dirt on one and it got all moldy. Had to take the tank off and bake the base (celluclay,dirt, wood) in the microwave to kill the critters. Who said makeing mud pies in the sandbox as a kid was time wasted? G.L.
