New Diorama im gonna try.
Posted by jlbell on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 6:34 PM

Ok Ive been out of modeling for some years but im coming back after stopping  smoking I needed something to take up time . Here are some pictures of the kits ill be using as i go . Ill try my best to post pictures as i go and If you see something im doing that i could do diffrently that might be better please dont hesistate to tell me. Ive only ever been a novice type modeler but i want this to look as real as i can and im going to ask alot of questions in the other forums adn maybe here. Ok Here are some pictures of the kits. Im going to need 1 more kit of figures that i would like to add just havent gotten them yet.

The story behind this in my mind is a group of US soldiers searching for bad guys while being covered by a Sniper  that has engaged a bad guy that was trying to come from behind them .  I know this will take LOTS of time but that is ok with me. Hope to be posting more pics as things start to come to life.

Ok here is the farm wall with entrance im using cut out and built and used testors contour putty to fill in holes from mistakes i made while removing extra plastic on the Miniart kits.

Also with this being set in the middle east should i cover the bricks with putty and try to make them look like stucco finish?

I do have a Question for anyone reading this that might know. Do all the MiniArt kits like this one have jsut a ton of extra plastic all around the parts that you have to try and cut out ? Also i used a dremel tool to remove mine and i was wodering if there was a better way  ?

Sounds like a pretty cool idea! You can get 'stucco' paint that dries with a rough surface like the real thing. And yeah the MiniArt kits I've tried have the extra stuff around the edges- I just score with my penknife and then break them off.

Guy doesn't want to be pointing his weapon at his buddy.

Nice progress and Idea as well.  My friend who I went to school with became a US Ranger a few years ago.  His group in Afghanistan had a K9 unit like the one in your kit.  He said it was the nicest dog... until it was given the command to attack.  He said it was actually kinda creepy even being around it after seeing what it was capable of.
