Greetings Modelers,
I started this diorama last winter, and it was the first 1/48 scale model/figure work I'd done. The tank is an IS-2 tank by Tamiya, strictly out of the box, and the figures are also Tamiya.
I scratch built everything else in the diorama, with the exception of the lamp post, which is also Tamiya. This was the first diorama of this size I've attempted. Up to this point, I've strictly done "Tank sitting on grass" type dioramas.
The young Volksturm recruit is a Tamiya figure I cut down in size a little bit, then built up some baggy sleeves and pant legs on him to make him look a bit smaller. I also gave him an ascot and arm-band.
This is still a WIP, since I'm not totally satisfied with it yet. I'd like to do some better shading on the figures, and dirty them up a little more. I'm also thinking about recoloring the building to more closely match the debris all around it. On top of that, I'd like to add some more small debris around the building and inside the building. There are some white plaster spots showing through on the diorama still that need to get touched up. I'd like to clutter up the interior of the building some more since it really shouldn't look that clean.
The first couple pictures are old ones I took with my phone, then played with using phone image editing apps
Please let me know any suggestions you have. I'd love to hear your feedback and am hoping for some constructive criticism. Thanks!
