To me, it looks like it would be perfect as a depiction of the Huertgan Forest battle before the Bulge with the trees being blasted by artillery fire.

I forgot my NEMO .I got a ribbon for him years ago .All the underwater plants had to be made from untreated real wood, Food coloring the only thing allowed .They will last as long as they don't get damp .Nice idea . OOOH RAA -Semper Fi ! !
Definitely Zombie material .Or a horror scene of another type , Freddie chasing some poor shmuck through those forbidding trees .Yaah ! HELP ! !
here are a few shots of the tree that crushed the shed

The bark is great concern ..most have a thick bark that I'm no really worried about ...in fact the tree that has smashed the tool shed was damaged during construction...i just used white glue to stick it back on. Best of luck on your projects and thanks for the interest.
Ok, I know there would be a difference between twigs and the main trunk of a tree, but my concern would have been the bark coming of. But I defiantly will give this a try especially for dead fall and so on.
Thanks for the info, one of my main aims is to liven up my dio bases and I do like this idea.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Inevitably all the bigger sticks get painted for uniformity and everything gets a dull coat. I hope this protects on some level..I've had pretty good luck with longevity with smaller growth, but this will be a good test...
Actually it doesn't sound silly at all. I have thought of this but my concern is the wood rotting or discolouring. Do you treat them with anything.
All of the trees and undergrowth are real sticks and parts of other plants..I have added roots and some branches here and there. The difficult part is finding these items that look convincing to scale...I spend a lot of time looking for the right stick...how silly does that sound! But my philosophy is, what looks more like a tree than a tree?
I have to ask, what are the trees made of. They look so much like real wood but I just can't imagine its that simple.
Many thanks for lookng Bish! Was tossing around making this a snow scene...now not so sure..still many things to consider and finish. Thank you for your positive feedback.
Now that's is a great looking base, would love to do something like that.
Thanks Bones, all my figures look like zombies anyway, but that is a very interesting spin...thanks for checking it out and giving me another option!
Hey fellas, been a while since I have bored you with my work I still don't have time for a complete WIP, but this is a project I have been pecking at for almost two years now, haven't touched it in months but got the bug to work on it this past weekend. Things took shape better than I hoped so I thought I would share. Disregard the figures, just wanted some in the pic, the final figures and placement are undetermined. Thank you guys and as always all comments and critiques are welcome. more to come..
