1/35th Jagdpanther, completed pics
Posted by Bish on Monday, April 27, 2015 2:32 PM

I just finished this scene of a Jagdpanther hiding out un a wood in France in 1944. This is the Dragon 1/35th early production Jagdpanther with a Voyager set which included a metal barrel, lots of PE, much of which wasn't use, and metal side skirts and the tube for the cleaning rods. The kit was really nice to build, the only issue being accuracy for the vehicle being portrayed, but these didn't take to much to correct.

The trees were my first attempt at making my own, using wire covered in Flexi bark on one and tile grout on the other 2. After painting I added rubberised horse hair and sprinkled with leaves using some old dried herbs and some woodland scenices fine turf. The figures are all Mini Art and the ground is celluclay with 10 lots of different products for the ground cover and various plants.

Thanks for looking, all comments welcome.

Very convincing dio, Bish.

You should be proud of those trees, they look great. (so does everything else).

With ambient overhead room lighting, it is really neat how portions of the armored vehicle and personnel are in the shade of the trees.

Edit: BTW, should I ever take up HO trains again, might I commission you to make several hundred trees in 1/87th? Idea Stick out tongue

This is just all around excellent. I can't find a single thing that looks out of place. Fantastic work Bish. It's a wonderful story that I can see, and that is just brilliant work!  :)

Great job on the Zim Bish.  A very realistic dio theme about a crew using the cover of thick trees to clean the tank's main gun, typical scene during the late war years. Your trees came out looking like a million. Beer

Couldn't help but smile when I read about the use of "rubberized horsehair" in creating those wonderful trees. That is some very serious 'imagineering' and the results speak for themselves - really nice work, Bish!

Thanks guys.

Pawel, next up is finishing a couple of builds I have ben working on the last couple of months, an engine and a Sioux Indian bust. After that its a TIE for the Star Wars GB. It will be a while before i do another armour build, but this has got me trying to think of more interesting dio bases and I am already thinking about using the same method I did with the trees to make a hedge for a 251 build.

Thanks Knight, much appreciated.
