I can't believe what I'm looking at, such a incredible depiction.  You sir, inspires me to the fullest and I'm positive that other forum members do so as well.

A masterful presentation....from most clearly a Master Modeler.  You are in a league all your own....you inspire the rest of us.   I love the detail here....e.g., the smoke rising off the soldier's cigarette and the engine.....but the scene's focus and sense of drama are what really carry the day for you here.  I like the figure change you made....makes us imagine what daddy will look like as he comes around the corner of the station after getting off the train.   Wonderful work.....           Robert

Excellent!  I like both options for the main figures.

All the best,

Amazing! It is the most unique vignette I have ever seen.

2014 show. First time I've displayed in many moons!

Here is what it looked like back then - I decided that I did not like the main figures they seemed a bit stiff and contrived. I decided that the mother and son would add more "anticipation" to the scene and convey the idea of "waiting".

This looks familiar--did you show this at the MFCA show this past May?

Beautiful job and very moving. The music has to add tremendously to it.

Thanks Guys!

Here are a couple of photos of a model I built of the Fleming for my dad - started with a shortened and modified Revell Buckley hull and scratchbuilt the topsides

P.S. I have an amplifier built into the diorama that I plug an Ipod nano into to play big band tunes (Glenn Miller was dad's favorite!).

Wow!  That's a great vignette.

It needs this playing in the background...

Very good looking! Master composition. I love shadow boxes.

Never seen anyone do that to a locomotive before...

Interesting story, Fleming and then the ship named after him. Google search reveals there is (will be) an NCC named Fleming as well.

Here are some progress and finished photos of a box diorama that I built last year. It is dedicated to all those of the "Greatest Generation" who fought for our freedom - in particular my father who served aboard the destroyer escort U.S.S. Fleming in the South Pacific.

Enjoy!
