Motorized B-17
Posted by Squatch88 on Saturday, January 16, 2016 7:01 PM

Hey all! I've been out of the game for a while. No place to build being the primary reason. However, I have had time to work on a far off project. Motorizing a B-17 for a diorama! So I've had this idea forever and in my research I found someone who's done it already. George Mustafa. He did a fantastic job that was heads and tails above what I want to do but he gave me some neat ideas.

I have just started working on learning how to use an arduino, I could just wire some motors and clip em to a battery but I want a push button for a little scene. I think I am going to shoot for a post maintenance engine run, where all 4 engines will turn up individually, have some lights come on, then engines and lights turn down. It'll take quite a while to get done as my coding experience is nil, but I wanted to share with you guys my ambitions. The idea has been in my head for at least 15 years.

The kit I have is the revel 1/48 B-17. I bought some eduard kits to spruce it up a bit too. Looking forward to it!

I'll be watching this closely. I've just started using Pico LED's on my armor projects. This has got my attention.  :)
