Thanks, very much! It has been a fun build so far. I am in the process of fleshing out the flak pits so I can plaster and paint next. Still have to build another gun and assemble all the figures.. As fun as it is, the carnage that takes place as I build it is something else, too. this is my garage at the moment..ON the floor in front of my table saw is the roof which I need to cut out and seal and cover with plaster and paint... With any luck, it will all get done in time for the trip to SC in August..  Thanks for the kind words. Please feel free to offer critical comments as well.  You're never too far along that you can't benefit from another's perspective. have a great one!

Made some progress on the flak module. I made the flak pit modulr to make it easier for me to detail and transport. The module has been removed from the tower and has been positioned for fine detailing, fit checking, etc. I have the guns mocked up, not fully assembled) in place to see if everything looks right. I have a long way to go.

Well, it is finally starting to look like something, though I am not sure what.. I got the roof position established, and have to begin the process of filling out and texturing that surface.

Hello Claude!

That concrete texture on the outside is looking good!

One thing - just now I noticed the inscription: Der Flaktürm. Now that's a bit off, in German you have one Flakturm and several Flaktürme. So I hope you can still remove the dots from over the u...

But the build itself - Respect! The originality of the idea! The execution is top notch, too!

Good luck with your great work and keep them pictures comin' - have a nice day

You're a mad genius!!! Yes

BTW: unless you're doing her 'in-action' so to speak there's a nice set of German figures playing cards that might work well here. They're in panzer uniforms but maybe you could alter them? Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Wow.. those are great figures. I am not (?)going to do in action per se.. I have about 28 figures to do including 4 females, a dog and a cat... I will have the flak crew in the main pit doing something, loading shells, preparing to fire, etc, but on the balcony where the quad 20s are I was gonna have some instruction going on.. I have female luftwaffe figures, 2 of which are in the seated position .. but.. I also bought a couple cases of resin beer bottles and steins so someone is gonna be enjoying their duty more than others.. Thanks  for the tip.  Ok the voices in my head are telling me to go back to work on it..hehe  thanks.. More pics to come..

OK.. added the supports for under the swallows nests. Now have to sand, refine, and fill in the gaps before flooding it with concrete enamel..

Hi Claude, just..... killer! Where did you get that cool serach light, and what scale is it? Did it work when you got it, or did you have to wire it up to work?

  Thanks!

Rudy  Thanks Rudy. The searchlight is a static kit ( non functional) from AFV club.( I got it on EBAY as a buy it now for 27 dollars. )It is 1/35 scale as is the rest of the tower. I illuminated it with a JustPLug  lighting system you can get from Hobby Lobby for around 30 bucks ( with transformer) The searchlight model is pretty neat in that in contains a curved clear piece that I painted silver along with the inner searchlight case to reflect the light backwards into the mirror and walls and out the front of the searchlight, like the real thing! Its been a real fun project so far. The red lighting in the flak pit are also from Pluglights.  Glad you like the build. I just Hope I get it finished in time for the Nationals in August.

Corrected the geometry. This thing has 16 sides from the base to the balcony, but has 32 sides from the balcony to the roof.. minor adjustments made.. lot of grumbling and colorful invectives..

Thanks. It's slowly evolving into something. Revising as I go though. Running out of concrete paint..

Well, the mirrors came in and I couldnt wait to mock them up and see if it was going to work as I hoped.. Now I just need to cut them to the correct size and get the tower contents completed. More to come..

Hello!

Lookin' really good! But even without the mirrors it's very impressive. I wonder if the seams along the mirrors could be helped in any way. Good luck with your project and have a nice day
