Church Ruins for Flak 36 Dio Base - Progress Pics
Posted by Dwight Ta-ala on Monday, March 29, 2004 12:10 AM

I am currently doing the diorama base for the Flak 36 model that I am entering into the Towed Gun Group Build in the Armor Forum. The basic idea of the dio is the Flak 36 located in a camouflaged position in front of a church ruins. Right now I am doing the church ruins. Here are some progress pics:

I used foamboard as my basic material together with some styrofoam and popsicle sticks. I'll be doing the roof tiles, stained glass windows, door and other details next.

As per armour forum, great job. I can't wait to see this one when it's done. You used really simple materials, but the result so far looks very very promising.

Looks great so far Dwight ..... but your ceiling joists look like they're 60" center to center in this scale. Best be checking your building codes.

Boy, you'd think an engineer would have picked up on that. Shock [:O]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]

Sherm: LOL. I thought I can get away with that since it will be covered by the roof tiles and the ceiling anyway. But I guess I was wrong, the code inspectors are really very sharp in here. Ha-ha-ha.

Thanks guys.
