Thank you guys! This build and final product got me really excited to do some more! I feel like the pacific campaigns are a less frequented theater for dioramas. Excited for my next projects!
Welcome to the forum and congrads on starting things out with a bang! Great job there on the Type 97, the figures, and the overall composition. Kudos sir!!!

I like the way you kept it simple and relatively clean. Good work.

Nice job !
I like the way you have the tank extended over the edge of the base. Gives it a feeling of thing's going on beyond the scene.
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
I’m particularly impressed at how you were able to make a very effective diorama on such a small base. Great arrangement. I also believe in not over weathering planes ships and vehicles unless there is a specific story behind it like a burnt out tank that was abandoned a while ago, or just slogged through a muddy battlefield. WW2 was a relatively short war and military equipment had a very fast turnover due to losses and obsolescence, so in many cases it just didn’t have time to get too beat up or grungy. Look at how many airplanes Thomas McGuire or Eric Hartmann ran through in three years. Photos and videos from the war also showed many planes and tanks in fairly good condition.
That's a nice dio. It has great balance in the way its laid out.

TigerII stikpusher That’s very nice work. But the Japanese tanks at Peleliu were Ha Go light tanks and not Chi Ha medium tanks. Hey Stik, I think he said that in his original thread.

I did not see the build thread, only this.

That is very nice. The figures are really great.
Got me to thinking about the Australian combat photographer Damien Parer who was killed at that battle. Some of his footage remains and was in a documentary about his life on Oz TV.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Hmmm;
You know , this stands on it's own merit . I give it a 9.98 ! Very well done and I know how hard figures are to paint . So there ! Good work !
This is a very nice diorama of the Peleliu airfield. This is one of those times where 'less is more'.
Hey Guys! This is my first post here. Also, my first diorama after a returning to scale models. It's been about ten years haha. Lemme know your thoughts!
The figures are Dragon and are built OOB except that I converted the wounded marine and the flame thrower into the guys that carry the mortar. Mortar is from a Tamiya weapons set. I hate painting eyes and can never get them quite right, so I omitted them. The Chi-Ha is A Tamiya built OOB. I originally wanted a Dragon Ha-Go but didn't want to spend the money on it when I was intending to build it in a destroyed state. Ended up getting the Chi-Ha for $9 and didn't destroy it anyways haha. Guess it was abandoned due to engine failure or something. Base is styrofoam and gravel.
